Create an Order - FBA

Learn how to create Amazon FBA orders in the Client Portal, including how to upload labels, set fulfillment status, and prepare shipments for Amazon warehouses.

Written by ShipTop

FBA orders allow you to replenish inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers directly from ShipTop.

To ensure your shipment is processed correctly and routed through the appropriate workflow, follow the steps below.

How It Works

FBA orders are created as manual orders in the Client Portal, but must follow specific requirements to ensure they are:

  • Recognized as FBA shipments

  • Routed to the B2B Fulfillment team

  • Prepared according to Amazon’s requirements

Step 1: Create the Order

  1. Log in to your Client Portal

  2. Create a new order as you normally would

  3. Enter the Amazon FBA Order Number as the Order Number

This is critical to ensure the order is identified as an FBA shipment.

Step 2: Create Separate Orders (If Required)

If your FBA replenishment includes multiple FBA order numbers:

  • Create a separate manual order for each FBA order

Step 3: Upload FBA Labels

Upload all required labels in the Attachments section of the order, including:

  • FNSKU labels

  • FBA box labels

  • Amazon-generated shipping labels (if applicable)

Step 4: Add Warehouse Instructions

In the Warehouse Packer Notes section, include clear instructions.

Step 5: Set the Shipping Method

After creating the order:

  1. Update the shipping method to:
    Generic Label → Generic Label

This ensures the order is treated as a pickup order, not a carrier shipment.

Step 3: Toggle Wholesale & Update Profile

Enable the Wholesale toggle and update the order profile accordingly.

This ensures the orders are submitted to our B2B Fulfillment team.

Important:
You must include both:

  • FBA Order Number

  • Shipment ID

Non-Case Shipments (Important)

If you are not shipping in full cases:

  • Amazon may require weights and dimensions before shipment submission

  • In this case:

    • Contact the ShipTop team

    • The warehouse will prepare the order and record measurements

    • Details will be shared once complete

Important Notes

  • Missing labels or unclear instructions may delay processing

  • Each FBA order must be created separately

  • Orders must be set to Wholesale

  • Always upload labels before the order is processed
