Assigning components to a Build Kit SKU allows you to seamlessly sell bundles/sets under one main SKU. This article walks you through how to properly create a build kit and add components to the product.
NOTE:
In order for a bundle to be built, all products must already be in the inventory page. So before creating a build kit, you must first:
Create a Product Listing for each component SKU
Step 1 - Identify Kit Components
Navigate to the product details page.
Locate the "Kit Components" section.
Use the search bar to find and select the individual products that make up this kit.
Step 2 - Update the Quantity and Add Additional Components
Click the Quick Edit button to update the Component Quantity for this bundle/kit
Continue searching for and selecting components until all required items appear in the product list below the search bar.
Step 3 - Enable Build Kit
Scroll back to the top-left of the page.
Click the pencil to open the product configuration modal.
Scroll Down In the pop-up window
Check the box for "(Build Kit) Break the components of this kit into separate line items on an order."
NOTE:
Enabling the Build Kit button in the product settings will break the components of the kit into separate line items on an order. The quantity of the kit SKU will be reduced to zero and the quantity of the component SKUs will be updated.
Step 5 - Save Product Updates
Click the blue "Update" button at the bottom of the modal to save your changes.
Click "OK" on the confirmation pop-up to finish.
